Common questions

Margin vs markup — what's the difference?

Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of cost. A 50% markup is only a 33% margin.

Can margin be above 100%?

No — margin is capped at 100% (would require zero cost). Markup has no upper bound.
